On Saturday, August 8th, 2015 ADG-Architects, Five Bugles Design, and MEP Associates teamed up to particpate in Mayo Clinic Health Systems' inagural Dragon Boat Festival.
Approximately 33 teams competed on a 250-meter course on the lake to raise awareness about the hospital's hospice programs and bereavement services in the Chippewa Valley.Teams of 22 people raced each other on Half Moon Lake in Eau Claire, WI and every team raced three times. The day also included opening ceremonies and a hospice remembrance ceremony. People were also able to make a memorial donation to remember friends and family members.
Mayo Clinic Health System says more than 700 people participated in the races and about 100 volunteers supported the festival. More than $155,000 was raised at Saturday's Half Moon Dragon Boat Festival in Eau Claire.
We may not have come in first place at the Half Moon Lake Dragon Boat Festival, but it was definitely a first class event put on by Mayo Clinic Health System. We are proud to have been a sponser and to have helped benefit the hospice programs and bereavement services by our participation. We had a fun-filled day and were Division B Consolation winners thanks to the great team effort of ADG/Five Bugles Design and MEP Associates, LLC.
“Just as it takes a team to paddle a boat, it takes a hospice team to support the patient and family at the end of life,”Lisa De Sieno, director of bereavement services at Mayo Clinic Health System.
